I am ordering some Black Acaia sets for one of my customers and would like to make this offer available to all of you as well. Here is a picture of the quality we are talking about. These sets will be about $230 USD, not cheap, but significantly cheaper than equivellent Koa, to which this species is a very close relative and is often compared to. These are the best flamed sets. So, if there is any interest please let me know. The day job has me out of town Monday to Thursday so I will likely place the order next weekend, gives you all a bit of time to think about it. The sets will be available for shipping from here about two to three weeks after I order them. Here are the pictures: ![]() This wood is wonderful to work with. I am building my first guitar from one of these sets and the venetian cut-away bent like butter on my fox bender. Here is a picture on the back for my guitar from this same supply. ![]() Thanks Shane |

Gorgeous stuff, eh? If I didn't have 20 or 30 sets myself I'd be buyin' some! |

It really is Don, and it is wonderful to work with, no noxious (ya Brock, where is that spell checker?) dusts. The Weissenborn pictured is an instrument built by the guy who cuts these sets so you know that they are cut by someone who knows what to look for. Shane |

Beautiful wood Shane. Wish I could afford some. I might be getting some figured Myrtlewood B&S sets. Trade? ![]() |

That wood looks more like koa than black acacia, but I've seen it like that too. Amazing stuff. We couldn't get our supplier to sell is the best quality on our last attempt, so we may bring in any more. If we could get the stuff like you're showing there, we would, but the guy has been difficult. |

Ya, I think the good stuff is getting much harder to find. I just went on trek to find some nice Koa and it is now being harvested from old and marginal bits of wood. This Acacia is great in that regard. And it bends easy also. Here are the sides for my current project that go with the back up above. These sides are .080. Shane |

So far so good. It's my first guitar.....Thought I'd try a cut-away. But this wood bent so well I don't know what I was so nervous I was shaking for! |

That's an expensive piece of wood. I'd be nervous too. But with all your carpentry and logging skills, I bet it turns out grand. |

Just an update for those who ordered some of this wood, I will be making the call tomorrow. For anyone else interested this is a last call for this batch. I will bring in a couple of extra sets. Thanks Shane |
